Sergio Gamberini's
Excellent Shop

The shop of Sergio Gamerini is located in the village of Granarolo dell'Emilia outside of Bologna.

In this age of fuel injection, ABS brakes, electronic ignition and multiple ECUS, it is getting difficult to find qualified people to work on ancient technology such as Dunlop disc brakes, Weber carburetors, and distributors which have points. Finding a good garage while on vacation is even more difficult.

Therefore, we were extremely fortunate to have been referred to the shop of Sergio Sergio Gamberini, who, so it appeared, was an excellent choice as he has a long history working on classic Lancias, as well as in preparing a variety of historic racing cars for his clientele. This includes Silvio Mandelli and his very successful Alfa Romeo 1900SS Touring that gloriously competes under the umbrella organization of the Scuderia Italia in the Italian classic car racing events as well as in the European Classic Car Championship. The visit to Gamberini’s shop confirmed that he was well organized and the shop was immaculate! Gamberini obviously had a passion for classic cars.

After a quick tour of the facilities - during which we admired the “Wall of Trophies”, an extensive library and model car collection, as well as several classic Alfa Romeos and Ferraris, we let him repair the ailing Lancia. The result was superb work and a car that would now be able to take us over the Alps to Holland.

Gamberini's shop is neat and clean inside and outside.

Alfa 1900SS looks a bit more colorful than the stock item, but probably goes a lot better as well!
