Ferrari Galleria
Certainly enjoyed Marcel's article about the Ferrari Galleria.
Given my devotion for so many years to the 250GT Spyder California, it
was interesting to see a LWB version pictured on the front cover of the
brochure (along with a 250 GTO). I was wondering if Marcel knows the
chassis/engine number of the silver-coloured example that is on display
in the galleria.
Thanks, and keep up the excellent work.

Italian nuances
In Marcel Massini's excellent article on the Ferrari Galleria, he states that the Museum is owned by the community. Just for the record, it is owned by the Municipality, in Italy we call the Municipality the "Comune." As Enzo Ferrari may have wished, The Galleria Ferrari is not a Museum but a Gallery-a fine line but one Enzo could live with. The last time I was in Maranello, I asked for directions to the "Museo Ferrari" from an old man on the street. The old man stopped in his tracks and explained, "Musea are for dead things Ferrari is far from being dead and hence the name Galleria!" He continued by saying that I had to follow him (while he was peddling on his bike) as he would lead me to the Galleria. So I did and enjoyed the collection!

Sebring
Interesting commentary on the HSR exhibition at Sebring 12 hours. Please note this is basically a charitable display by those who put it on, and it should be regarded as such.
The real action happened two weeks earlier HSR's Al Holbert GTP Reunion, an annual event conducted a couple of weeks prior to the 12 Hours. This is an event where greats like Jim Adams are reunited with their former rides and show how strong they still are. For example, at 65, Adams, who won the 1965 12 Hours GT pole and continued as an avocational driver, earning several factory rides while successfully growing a non-automotive business, turns 1:56s in John Hotchkis' 10+ year-old Spice Chevrolet. It's the best racing you'll see. Why not attend a real HSR event (Road Atlanta's Walter Mitty in April, or Daytona in November) and see for your self? Where else can you see Alfa 33TT12s, GTOs, and 512Ss being really raced, rather than paraded as they are at the other sanctioning bodies events? I'm sure you'll find it's worth the trip!
Thanks for a great magazine!

Bruce Williams
