Could anybody at VT solve the mistery of the 4 cilinder engine of 750 cc displacement for the the pictured Citroen. To my knowledge in 1961 there were no regular Citroen engine of such small displacement; is/was it a prototype engine?

The photo of the “Citroen Sport” says that it is a 4 cylinder. That year the DS-ID had a 4 cylinder motor, but it started at 1.9 litres, and the 2cv was a 2 cylinder. The GS was not out yet. Therefore, I am concluding that the motor is a 2 cylinder motor.

A few years ago, at the Bologna-Raticosa hillclimb, Keith Kelley and I saw a Citroen special much like this one. It had big chevrons in the rear vent and had a flat-r engine. I think the car was covered in either Sports & Classic or Thoroughbred & Classic in that same year

Great stuff as per usual. If I can be permitted a little greed, now that you are the only publisher in the world who features these “real” cars that mortals could once own (although perhaps not now)a few more inside shots like that of the Citroen would be marvellous. Please keep it up!
